The Strix is a multi-purpose, lightweight, totally autonomous unmanned aeroplane, rapid deployment, with low operating and maintenance costs and extensive flight autonomy.
It was designed to be equipped with a wide range of sensors for intelligence gathering, surveillance, measuring, observation and reconnaissance with magnetic, optic or radio-frequency sensors
As well as payload sensors, as standard equipment, the Strix carries a guidance camera which allows the re-creation of the cabin of the aircraft. The flight can be monitored and manual and semi-automatic operations can be carried out when it is out of visual range.
The Strix can be launched from the roof of a moving vehicle or from a pneumatic catapult, specially designed by AeroDreams. In addition, it can take off from a conventional runway using the undercarriage and engine propulsion.
The Strix is made of compound materials (carbon fibber, Kevlar, honeycomb), which makes it light and durable, capable of operating in difficult environments.
Since its first flight in 2005, the Strix has built up hundreds of hours in test flights and intelligence and reconnaissance operations, proving to be stable, safe and reliable.
